I remember being in Singapore between 1970 -1972 we lived at jalan putah jurna then moved top a bungalow at Lloyd lees I think. We were living at Chip Bee when we got our leaving orders. I remember Changhi Junior School and the Village. Going to the Beach and using the swimming pool. We were excited to come home but that novelty soon wore off. Can anyone remember the song ''Goodbye Changhi we must leave you, though it breaks our hearts to go'' Never a truer word.

(23) Hi,

I came across your website and saw the collection of photos on Singapore that is so good. I wonder if I can request the use of these photos in a gallery in Singapore. And if is allowed, would I be able to obtain the high resolution of these photos from you.

The attached photo and the link to the other two photos are here. Thank you.

The two photos that you mention are scans of postcards. I assume that they are in the public domain and therefore free for you to use.

I recognised myself as bottom row 4th girl in on left. My dad was in the RAF we lived there from 65 until 69/70 he was Col Gordon Frederick Coggon in the fire service. I remember he smells and certain places it's been a wonderful revisit looking through the photographs thankyou.

What a pleasant surprise to have discovered this website with its pictures of my old primary school (Pasir Pang Jang), the Britannia Club, the Botanical Gardens, Changi Beach, etc.

My late father, John Smedley, was a WO2 in 5 Dog Coy RMP. We were in Singapore for about two years from when I was six years old in ā€˜58 or early ā€˜59. My kid brother was born there in 1960.

I remember two chums in particular: John Dolphin and curly-haired David Shepherd. It sure was a long time ago...

Hi everyday. It was great walking down memory lane, with all the place names bringing vivid memories. I was there from 1968 to 1971. Went out With my new husband and came back a mother of two small boys ( and no amah). My husband, John Ward, was a corp. At RAF tengah and we lived off the bukah timah road. I remember the parties.....! My father had less enjoyable memories having been a p.o.w. in hanging!!

So happy to find this site, amazing memories of my childhood. Lived in Airview Towers and Dempsey Road, Tanglin, 1966/1968. I went to Wessex infants Sch then Pasir Pangjan.
Dad was Bill Dodge, mum Fia, was German. I had two older sisters, Anna and Heidi.
Remember Tanglin swimming pool, every day after school, and the lovely old guy who always made us tea and toast after swimming! Loved going to the cinema twice a week.
Cycling round camp, botanical gardens.
I remember Alan Hughes, the Vicar.
Iā€™m sure my best little friends at home were twin boys called Gary and David Winning.
Would love to hear from you if you remember any of us.
